The border has been placed at the center of the European integration process in order to promote a "Europe of border regions" with multiple euroregional-institutional cooperations across EU borders.
In the lecture, Peter Ulrich will discuss the connection between border-related factors and cross-border cooperation as well as governance processes.
Peter Ulrich is a political scientist and spatial planner. He is a research associate at the Leibniz Institute for Spatial Social Research (IRS) and the Department of Spatial Planning at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg. He is also a member of the Viadrina Center B/ORDERS IN MOTION at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). Within the BMBF project "Linking Borderlands" he coordinates the action "Policy Borderlands" at the BTU.
