Publication – Cross-border Work in Europe
The UniGR-CBS members Rachid Belkacem (University of Lorraine), Isabelle Pigeron-Piroth (University of Luxembourg) and Christian Wille (University of Luxembourg) as well Franz Clément (Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research) have just published a new book.
The topic of the book is cross-border work in Europe from a multi-perspective view. The book with 14 English and French texts gathers 21 experts from Europe and was presented for the first time on the 24th November 2023.
The book “Cross-border Work in Europe / Le travail frontalier en Europe”
Living in one country and working in another is a daily reality for thousands of people in Europe. The contributions in this book analyze the many facets of cross-border worker flows, identifying similarities and differences from one area to another. The socioeconomic, socio-cultural, territorial and legal realities and challenges of cross-border work in selected cross-border regions are discussed in detail. The many findings in this book shed light on little-known aspects of cross-border work in Europe. The aim is to encourage new research on this topic, while promoting dialogue between science and policy in order to develop cross-border solutions for territorial resilience in the context of polycrisis in Europe.
