Guest Lecture – What happened to the Balkan route? An anthropological view of the European migration regime from the borders of the EU

The lecture focuses on different phases of migration to and through the so-called Balkan countries, which have been transformed continuously due to the changing European migration policy. In addition to the European level, Carolin Leutloff-Grandits will also consider national and local strategies for managing mobility and the associated self-empowerment, and will point out some consequences of these strategies.

Carolin Leutloff-Grandits is Scientific Coordinator and Senior Researcher at the Viadrina Center B/ORDERS IN MOTION of the European University Viadrina.

The guest lecture is part of the interregional UniGR-CBS conference series "Border Realities: Challenges and Perspectives in Uncertain Times" (www.borderrealities.org).
