Date de début

Following the success of the first season, which provided insights into border research and the work of the UniGR-CBS working groups, the podcast is now entering its next phase: from 15 October 2025, UniGR-CBS will once again invite listeners to discover current research topics and collaborations in audio format.

The second season will focus on collaborations between the UniGR-CBS and international partners.

The ON AIR podcast is UniGR-CBS’s latest initiative to foster international dialogue in the academic community. It showcases border research in the Greater Region and beyond.

The first season of ON AIR

The first season of ON AIR introduced the five interdisciplinary working groups of the UniGR-CBS . Each episode highlighted a specific approach to border studies: from historical perspectives on border regimes to the cultural studies concept of bordertextures, cross-border worker mobility, language practice in border areas, and issues of cross-border spatial planning.

Episodes:

Working group Spatial Planning

Working group Bordertextures

Working group GRETI

Working group Cross-border Labour and Education

Working group Border Temporalities

The episodes are produced in the three UniGR-CBS working languages English, French, and German, and published on an ongoing basis. ON AIR is designed for researchers, students, institutional stakeholders, and curious listeners both within and beyond the Greater Region..

The first and second seasons of the podcast are supported by the University of the Greater Region as part of its funding for the development of interdisciplinary UniGR Centers of Expertise.

The first episode of the new season is now available and invites you to the closing lecture of the UniGR-CBS lecture series “Border Realities: Beyond Nature and Culture” (2024/25). The organizers, Lola Aubry and Anne-Laure Amilhat Szary (University of Grenoble), reflect on the background of their research, link key contributions to their own research approaches, and offer an outlook on future projects.
