UniGR-CBS Fellow: Call for applications open

The UniGR-Center for Border Studies (UniGR-CBS) is issuing a call for applications for the UniGR-CBS Fellowship. This fellowship provides an opportunity for researchers and academics to spend two months at one of the following partner universities: RPTU University Kaiserslautern-Landau, Saarland University, University of Liège, University of Lorraine, University of Luxembourg or University of Trier, engaging with the Interdisciplinary Center of Expertise and contributing to the field of Border Studies.

Terms and conditions: 

• Postdoctoral researchers, senior researchers, and professors are eligible.
• Duration: 2 months
• Funding per stay: EUR 4,000
• Host university: one of the six UniGR-CBS partner universities
• Application deadline: February 28, 2026 

Three ways to apply:

• Apply for the fellowship at any UniGR-CBS partner university.
• Or apply for the dedicated fellowship at Saarland University
• Or apply for the dedicated fellowship at the University of Lorraine.

The UniGR-CBS Fellowship is open to postdoctoral researchers, senior researchers, and professors from all over the world and from all relevant disciplines working in the field of Border Studies.

Border Studies researchers can apply by sending the completed application form including their research proposal and letter of support to borderstudies@uni-saarland.de by 28 February 2026.
