Current challenges for spatial development in the Greater Region: The cross-border future vision as an answer?

21st October 2020, 3pm to 4.30pm
Webinar

In a cross-border context, the large dynamics of the economic, ecological and social conditions create a special need for coordination with regard to spatial development. At the beginning of 2020, the cross-border future vision of the Greater Region and therefore a mission statement and guiding principles for spatial development were adopted at the 6th Conference of the regional Ministers responsible for spatial planning. The complementary strategy for implementing this future vision is currently still in development although it is already well advanced. Pilot projects as well as project ideas and measures were drawn up by numerous stakeholders in the Greater Region. In a discursive exchange between research, politics and practice, the aim is to discuss how the future vision can be realized in the various regions of the Greater Region.

Representatives of the following institutions are invited for a short statement:

  • Frédéric Durand (LISER Luxembourg Institute of socio-economic research, Luxembourg)
